Legal stuff

On March 24, we filed a short document called a Notice of Appeal to the Virginia Supreme Court. Some time in the next ninety days we will file a petition, laying out our case for the appeal. Some time after that, the Supreme Court will decide whether to hear the case.

We're on our way. To all those who pledged for the legal fund, thank you. We'll need to receive your payments in the next three months, if you haven't sent them in already. We will be sending out individual reminders soon.

Our website has all the details for submitting donations, either online through Paypal, or by mail.

Vote smart for Town Council

There are five candidates running for three Town Council seats in the May 6 election. There are huge issues facing the town, and the outcome of this election will make a difference. The Old Middle School property is slated for redevelopment, we have big stormwater issues arising from the South Main development, downtown needs Town Council's help to turn the corner, and we are due for important reforms in how town government works -- just to name a few.

Once again, Citizens First is holding a series of "meet the candidates" forums with each of the five candidates. This is a great chance to see each of the candidates in action, responding to tough questions about their experience, values, ideas, and what they would like to accomplish on Town Council.

The forums will be from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the Blacksburg Middle School, 3109 Prices Fork Road
